The Facebook Post

If you knew my brother, you would know that "unconventional" would be a good start to describing him.

Our trip home didn't last long before my brother made a move of a different sort. We were there, sending him on in a stream of love and tears, for gratefulness that this revolving door of doctors, nurses, tests, pokes, prods, and misery was over, along with equal tears of grief, as he faded beyond our care at noon on Sunday.
Back to "unconventional." He didn't much hold with funeral homes and such. He requested a gathering of his people, with some good food, at his favorite place- our creek. I've done the best a person who lives in the Ohio Valley can do picking at time where we can park, be dry and not freeze. Current forecast points to Monday, March 22 beginning with the food part at 6:00 and as dark comes in, moving to the creek with lanterns. It would be all kinds of wonderful if we had an idea of the folks intending to drop by. If you would like to join us, please contact the person attached to James/ Jimi, that you know and they will fill you in on location, etc.
My heartfelt appreciation for the cards from far and wide, and for the prayers that sustain us.

And speaking of prayers and heartache, my cousin Myra lost her son yesterday on his 29th birthday.  Bless her heart. This is my cousin who lost a six year old as well.  Such grief.
