Hooray for October 2

Because October first is over.  That is Mom's birthday and it is so hard for me to shake the sad.  I was uber busy all day, trying to wrap up everything at school as we were leaving for fall break. Still a pervasive sadness.

Can I get a big "Amen" for making it through these nine weeks.

Lots of birthdays.  Buttercup turned twelve and Lilli Bugg fourteen, wow!

Showing up was about all I can manage on a Friday evening, so didn't make  it to Bugg's party with my camera.  Boo Hiss.  Ceece might be able to stick one in here.

I got invited to lunch with Mae one afternoon and  another evening went to have supper with Aunt SuZQ and Aunt Tish.  Tish is learning to manipulate her wheelie cart and otherwise keeping her broken foot up. It is always a relief to me each day Jimi doesn't have to be in the hospital.
Then today, I invited two dear teacher friends who celebrate birthdays in October to join me on the porch with our porch heater already in place.
I loved heading out in the cool sunshine this morning to pick what is left of my flowers.  I love flowers every where. I stuck a mum in a pumpkin I grew. Sprinkled rose petals that had seen better days.  I used Mom's china.

It was a colorful, tasty lunch.  I so miss these ladies in my classroom every week.  We enjoyed the afternoon.
I tried a couple of new things with the traditional beloved cinnamon rolls and they got a sample of each.

Rae and family came to share the leftovers.  It was a much needed break for me.  Thank you Lord for fall break, cool days, beautiful flowers and yummy food, friends and family!
